Thank you for your interest in joining Rustafied! This thread will provide you with the basic information you need to get the ball rolling.
A little about us
Our goal is to host the best Rust servers possible. In addition, we run Rustafied.com to keep the community up-to-date with Rust development and guides on surviving this harsh world we call Rust.
Over the years, we have grown tremendously thanks to our amazing community and dedicated Team. We have team members on deck at any time doing a little of everything; server moderation, artwork, programming, writing, and more. We're looking for competent and talented individuals to make this community the greatest it can be.
How we work
Rustafied is comprised of several teams which take care of different aspects of the organization:
Moderation - The meat and potatoes of Rustafied. Fights the never ending war against them hacker folk.
Community - This team handles the social aspects of Rustafied such as our Twitch streams, our YouTube content, and runs our events, the premier of which being Charitable Rust, our annual charity drive.
Systems Team - Systems handles the most sensitive aspects of Rustafied. Some of those aspects are server maintenance, programming, and other functionality.
Keeper of the Keys - This team handles all things on-boarding, training, and a bunch of behind the scenes stuff. If your application gets approved, you will get to know us really well.
How do I become a Moderator?
There are two steps involved in joining our Moderation team, first you'll need to join the Rustafied Crew (further details below). If you get your foot in the door, we will move you on to the next step.
What can I expect during my first few weeks with Rustafied?
The following is a rough breakdown of the road to Moderator:
Crew (2 weeks) - We call this the “be a social butterfly” stage. During this time we just want to get to know you. You'll be expected to show up and be around in order to for our current Team to get familiar with you and vice versa. You will also need to complete the Junior Moderation training prior to the next stage.
Junior Moderator (4-5 weeks) - This is where the REAL training starts. As a Junior Mod, you will have limited abilities to moderate and start to sit in on active moderation. You will need to grab more experienced Moderators to assist with certain tasks.
Moderator - Full Rustafied Moderator! Congrats, ya made it!
Is this a paid position?
Almost all Rustafied positions are on a volunteer basis, including moderation.
What kind of time commitment are you looking for?
We ask all Moderators to be around a minimum of 3 hours a week to be considered active, though we are pretty laid back. If you have IRL stuff, get busy with work/school, or just need some time away, we ask that you keep in communication with us so we don’t think you dropped off the face of the Earth. You can message one of the Senior Moderators or Keeper of the Keys to let them know you'll be away for a while.
To get the process started, you will want to follow the link at the bottom of this post which will take you to the official application for your selected role. You must be signed in to the forums in order to be able to submit your application.
Fill it out and give us some time to review it. Keep in mind that we are very picky with who makes the cut. We'll reach out to you regardless of if you make the cut or not. We get a ton of applications and inquiries to join so we are very selective with whom will move on to the on-boarding process. Please note: You must sign in to apply.
Applications are closed at this time.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to a member of our recruitment team; the Keeper of the Keys!
